TravelDNA™ ("we," "our," or "the Service") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
Account data: Email address, authentication credentials, account preferences.
Travel journal data: Trip records (destinations, dates, ratings, categories, transportation), journal entries (narratives, highlights, notes), moment logs, hike logs (name, distance, elevation, personal notes), and wanderlist destinations.
Profile and preference data: Home base location, quiz answers, travel style preferences, companion names (partner, pet, friends, children — first names only), cuisine preferences, and activity interests.
Recommendation data: Starred recommendations, dismissed recommendations, and any feedback you provide on recommendations.
Photos: Journal photos you upload are stored in private cloud storage (Supabase Storage), accessible only to you and served through short-lived signed links rather than public URLs. They are not visible to other users.
Beta feedback: If you submit in-app feedback, we collect your message, the page you were on, and optionally your name and email.
Local device storage: The app stores certain preferences and onboarding state in your browser's local storage on your device. This data does not leave your device except as part of normal app syncing.
Usage data: App interactions, error reports, and performance data collected through Sentry error monitoring.
Your travel journal data, quiz answers, and preferences are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate personalized insights and recommendations. AI-generated outputs may occasionally be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate. We do not use your data to train our own AI models. TravelDNA uses the Google Gemini API — Google's processing of API requests, including whether inputs may be used to improve Google's services, is governed by Google's applicable terms and privacy policy, which may vary by API tier and configuration. Google's processing may include human review of inputs and outputs for safety and quality purposes. See Google's terms at ai.google.dev.
